The aim of the Artists Market is to give local artists and artisan producers greater opportunities to promote and sell their work direct to the public. We believe that both the public and artists themselves benefit from this interaction: through the imparting and sharing of knowledge of creative practices and processes which, in turn, raises the collective awareness of, and appreciation for, the arts as a whole, and, in a wider context, highlights the vital and essential role of creativity in our lives. Our hope is that this can only serve to contribute towards the ongoing personal and collective evolution of humanity.
Unfortunately we do not allow the participation in the event of stallholders who only wish to sell 'retail' products produced by a third party.
For 2007 the Artists market in Southampton will take place on the first and third Saturday of every month and runs from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Stallholders are asked to arrive on site at around 8 a.m. to set up.
The cost of a pitch is £30.00 per day. For this cost we provide, erect and dismantle for each pitch a 3m x 3m heavy duty canopy and also provide comprehensive public liability insurance for the entire event.
